2.2. Accreditation / CPD section
The Accreditation / CPD feature allows you to automatically award and track Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points for contacts based on their event/training course attendance.
When a booking reaches a qualifying status (such as Attended), an accreditation and its accompanying CPD points are automatically created and linked to the contact. These records can then be viewed, tracked, and reported across the system.
1. Adding Accreditation / CPD to an Event/Training Course
A section called Accreditation / CPD is available on the Events page.
How it works
- You can add one or more items to an event/training course.
- Each item represents a specific accreditation and its associated CPD points.
To add an accreditation item:
- Navigate to an event/training course
- Locate the Accreditation / CPD section
- Click the plus icon (
)
- Complete the following fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Accreditation (Required) | Select from a predefined list |
| CPD Points (Required) | Enter a decimal value (default: 0.00) |
| Expiry Date (Optional) | Set if the accreditation should expire |
You can repeat this process to add multiple items to a single event/training course.
2. How an Accreditation is Awarded
Accreditations are awarded automatically based on booking updates.
Trigger Conditions
An accreditation is created when:
- A booking is updated AND
- The Booking Status changes to a qualifying status
Example
- Status changes from Active → Attended
- Accreditation is automatically awarded
Important Notes
- Records are created once per qualifying update (no duplicates or clones)
- Each record is linked to:
- The Contact
- The Event
- The Accreditation / CPD item
3. Configuring Qualifying Booking Statuses
Admins can control which booking statuses trigger accreditation awards.
Configuration
- Define qualifying statuses (e.g. Attended)
- This is configurable, not hardcoded, by navigating to Main Menu -> System -> Settings -> Settings section ->
- You can split different qualifying booking statuses by a semi-colon (;), for example: "Attended;Passed"
Why this matters
- Provides flexibility for different workflows
- Supports multiple attendance or completion models
4. Viewing Accreditations on a Contact Record
An Accreditation / CPD section is available on each Contact record.
What you’ll see
Each awarded CPD item includes:
- Accreditation
- CPD Points
- Awarded Date (automatically generated)
- Expiry Date (if set)
- Source Event
5. Expiry Handling
Accreditations with an expiry date are automatically monitored.
When a record expires:
- It is visually flagged
- It remains visible in the record
- It is not deleted
Key Behaviour
- Expired accreditations do not contribute to “active” totals
- Historical records are always retained
